Privacy Policy

This policy explains how TextWhisper handles account information, shared creative content, group membership, invitations, event-planner data, and technical information.

Who operates TextWhisper

TextWhisper is a collaboration and sharing service for performing-arts groups. It supports shared lists, text, sheet music, audio, annotations, rehearsal practice, event planning, group communication, and related workflows.

For privacy questions or requests, contact [email protected].

Information we may process

  • Account information such as display name, username, email address, avatar, language, and login-related identifiers.
  • Content users create or upload, including text, scores, audio, files, annotations, lists, categories, and practice material.
  • Group information such as memberships, roles, invitations, access permissions, event attendance, polls, and event-planner data.
  • Messages, comments, notifications, and information users choose to share with a group or another user.
  • Technical information needed for security and operation, such as browser, device, IP-related logs, session data, and usage events.

How we use information

  • To create accounts, authenticate users, maintain sessions, and provide requested features.
  • To display shared material to the correct users and groups according to access permissions.
  • To deliver invitations, notifications, group communication, rehearsal tools, and event-planner functions.
  • To provide support, protect the service, prevent abuse, and maintain reliability.
  • To improve performance and usability and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Groups, invitations, and shared content

TextWhisper is built around sharing. When a user joins a group, accepts an invitation, or adds content to a shared list, relevant information becomes available to group members who have permission to see it.

Invitation links and QR invitations may contain temporary security tokens used to connect a person to the intended group. These tokens may expire and should only be shared with intended recipients.

Group owners and administrators may control membership, roles, and access. Users are responsible for choosing appropriate content and sharing settings.

Files and third-party services

TextWhisper may connect to Google Login, Google Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud, email delivery providers, cloud storage, and other infrastructure providers.

For file imports, TextWhisper accesses only files or folders the user explicitly selects. It does not browse, modify, delete, or continuously synchronize unrelated files in a connected account.

Third-party providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies. TextWhisper requests access needed for the selected feature.

Cookies, sessions, and security

  • TextWhisper may use cookies, secure sessions, local browser storage, and similar mechanisms to keep users signed in and preserve preferences.
  • These mechanisms help protect accounts, maintain permissions, prevent abuse, and keep the service working across pages and devices.
  • Disabling necessary storage may prevent login or reduce functionality.
  • TextWhisper uses reasonable safeguards, but no internet-based system can guarantee absolute security.

Retention and deletion

TextWhisper retains information as reasonably necessary to provide the service, preserve group content and membership, maintain security and operational records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations.

Temporary invitations, sessions, security records, and backups may remain for limited periods after they are no longer visible in the service.

Users may contact support about access, correction, export, or deletion requests. Identity verification may be required, and group owners may need to be involved for group-controlled content.

User rights and responsibilities

Depending on applicable law and the user’s role, users may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal information.

Users are responsible for ensuring that material they upload, share, publish, or distribute is lawful and that they have the necessary rights and permissions.

Changes to this policy

TextWhisper may update this Privacy Policy when the service, providers, or applicable legal requirements change. The latest version published on this page applies from its publication date.
